Company Summary

Quattor focuses on the production of basic chemicals plastic polyethylene resins, and polypropylene - 100% recyclable. With international representation and global scale production, it has a varied portfolio as well as manufacturing versatility, which gives it the high market competitiveness.
The name Quattor was inspired by alchemy and the four elements of nature: water, earth, fire, and air. The combination of these four powers with the human element - employees, clients, communities, and partners - results in formula for success for the new generation of the petrochemical industry, in perfect synch with the environment.
There are eleven production units for basic petrochemicals, intermediate products, and thermoplastic resins, located in the states of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Bahia. With earnings estimated at R$ 9 billion in 2009, the company operates in the first and second generations of the petrochemical chain, and with around 1,700 direct employees, is among the 20 largest companies in the country.
Between 2005 and 2008 Quattor lead one of the boldest investment programs in the domestic petrochemical industry, with investments reaching R$ 2 billion. This amount is only comparable to the level invested in the implementation of the ABC petrochemical center in the early 70s.
Such investments afforded the growth of basic and intermediary petrochemical production capacity to 2.8 million tons/year and of polyethylene and polypropylene resins to 1.9 million tons/year. The company is currently responsible for 40% of the domestic production of polyolefin resins.
