Projuventude

Objective:

To reduce the indices of transgressions committed by children and adolescents, by strengthening the primary, secondary and tertiary preventive programs.

  • Reduction in the criminality and violence rate among youths in organizations assisted by Projuventude;
  • Increased school attendance and graduation rates, or the development of vocational skills;
  • Increased job offers and on-the-job stability.

Na mão certa (In the Right Hands)

Objective:

The In The Right Hand program is an initiative by Childhood Brasil (WCF Institute) that aims at mobilizing governments, companies, and organizations of the NGO sector in order to more effectively address the problem of sexual exploitation of children and adolescents on Brazilian highways.

Results:

  • With the exposure of the program in an event held for transportation professionals we successfully recruited them to the pact;

AACD (Assistance Association for Disabled Children)

Objective:

AACD is a non-profit philanthropic entity that has worked for 58 years towards the well being of people with physical handicaps. Its mission is to promote prevention, qualification, and rehabilitation for the physically handicapped, especially children, adolescents, and youths, encouraging their social integration.

Results:

  • Manufacture of prosthetics for the physically handicapped.

ADC Quattor

Objective:

Quattor makes the facilities of its club available to the community for sports, leisure, and group meetings.

Results:

  • Improvement in coordination, concentration, and discipline;
  • Respect for the rules proposed in the activities;
  • Significant social impact in the community of Fazenda da Junta (extremely impoverished).

Adapted Swimming - NANASA

Objective:

Provide assistance to disabled citizens through physical education, recognizing their interests and real opportunities to learn and interact socially, and motivating them to overcome their challenges and giving them participate with as much autonomy as possible in community activities.

Results:

  • More than 660 students have graduated
  • Social integration

Young Apprentices

Objective:

Quattor welcomes youths have registered in specialized programs in the region to experience the daily life of a large organization and learn about management tasks, thus contributing to their preparation to enter the workforce.

Results:

  • The youth's communication and safety skills improved and they became more mature;
  • Specific knowledge of the visited sectors.

40° Grupo Escoteiros Polaris (40th Polaris Boy Scouts Group)

Objective:

Through its activities, the group tackles the concepts of citizenship, behavior, respect, discipline, and environment.

Results:

  • More conscious individuals.

AGIR - Recycling program

Objective:

Recyclable materials are collected in several places in the city of Mauá. After recycling, part of the material is sold to other companies. The remaining materials are used to make clothing lines out of PET bottles. The money raised from the sale provides monthly salaries for the cooperative's workers.

Results:

  • Increases the service life of landfills
  • Decreases land, water, and air pollution
  • Promotes city cleanliness
  • Creates jobs

Lindo Sorriso (Beautiful Smile)

Objective:

Provides free dental treatment (prevention, odontopediatrics, surgery, periodontics, and orthodontics) for low-income children who are enrolled in public schools. Promotes dental health by preventive methods, providing the children with basic information about the importance of oral hygiene.

Results:

  • Children enrolled in public schools;
  • Dental health and education.

Coopmarc (Cooperativa de Materiais Recicláveis de Camaçari)

Objective:

Collecting, sorting, and selling recyclable materials has become one of COOPMARC's main activities; we seek to promote adult literacy, in partnership with SESI and through technical teaching activities, ensuring a high quality teaching process.

Results:

  • 2009 – Continued Education Project (short term courses);
  • 2008 – Elementary School II (5th through 8th grade), 6 cooperative workers;
  • 2007 – Elementary School I (1st through 4th grade), 13 cooperative workers;
  • 2006 – Elementary School I completed (literacy through 4th grade), 26 cooperative workers.

Instituto de Cegos (Institute for the Blind)

Objective:

Provide assistance to visually impaired children and adolescents in the states of Bahia and Sergipe, operating as an educational institution with the main objective of preparing visually handicapped youths to live in society. The institute provides the visually impaired with free food, clothing, medicine, school supplies, uniforms, hygiene items, etc.

  • Social inclusion of the visual impaired through educational projects.

Martagão Gesteira

Objective:

The hospital’s pediatrics department is the state’s benchmark in the care of needy children.

Results:

  • 300 daily clinical consultations and around 50 surgical procedures performed through SUS (the national Unified Health System).

Hospital A.C.Camargo

Objective:

The A.C.Camargo Hospital, maintained by the Antônio Prudente Foundation, is one of the main diagnostic, treatment, education and research centers for breast cancer in Latin America.

Planet Earth – UNESCO

Objective:

More effective use of the knowledge of around 400.000 geoscientists around the world for the construction of societies that are safer, healthier and more prosperous.

Results:

  • Important questions were raised for consideration and encouragement to scientific and technological research, as well as related disclosure of information to society in general.

Mario Amato School – SENAI

Objective:

Support the technical course in Plastics at the Mario Amato School - SENAI (classes on film and tube extrusions).

Results:

  • Train young people and prepare them for a profession.

Kids Vacation Club

Objective:

The 4th Military Police Department develops the Kids Vacation Club activities with the objective of removing a considerable number of children from the streets during school vacation, providing them with notions of civic duty, social integration and developing recreational, sporting and cultural activities.

Results:

  • Support to the 47th class of the Kids Vacation Club, July 2009.
